James A Kalp, PhD, SHRM-SCP
Industrial–Organizational Psychologist and leadership practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in people leadership, organizational development, and applied behavioral science.
I specialize in helping public-sector organizations—including fire and EMS departments, police divisions, schools, and municipalities—build healthier workplace cultures rooted in trust, accountability, and purpose.
My approach blends evidence-based psychology with servant leadership principles, equipping leaders and teams for sustainable growth. Before founding Kalp Consulting, I spent years in corporate and retail leadership, where I experienced firsthand the challenges of maintaining engagement, communication, and morale in high-pressure environments.

Philosophy
I believe leadership is not about authority but stewardship—about helping others see what’s possible, aligning people with mission, and cultivating habits that multiply trust.
Leadership development should be human-centered, mission-aligned, and measurable. Every engagement I design connects insight to action and action to culture, helping organizations translate their values into consistent, everyday behavior.
